about

I am a plant community ecologist who has an extensive background in grassland research. I am broadly interested in processes that affect the establishment, persistence, and coexistence of diverse plant communities. I am also keen on understanding how plant communities are assembled over time, and what kind of factors affect the composition of these communities. I currently study the invasion dynamics of grasses with a special focus on their belowground mechanisms. As a researcher, I think it is imperative to communicate the things we do to a wider audience to help bridge the knowledge gap with people from different walks of life, and I aim to do so in both English and Kannada (a vernacular language from South India). I also dabble in fiction writing and am interested in topics ranging from linguistics and geography to people and politics.
