Musings of an ecologist
Aaroha Malagi
about
I'm an early-career ecologist who has been formally trained as a wildlife biologist. I work mostly on plant communities, with a specific interest in processes that affect their establishment, persistence, and coexistence. I am also interested in understanding how plant communities are assembled over time, and what kind of factors affect the composition of these communities. As a researcher, I think it is imperative to communicate some of the things we do to a wider audience to help bridge the knowledge gap with people from different walks of life, and I aim to do so in both English and Kannada (a vernacular language from South India). I also dabble in fiction writing and am interested in topics ranging from linguistics and geography to people and politics.
